You know what’s great about being in the Agriculture Department? As students, we have the opportunity to build relationships with high school agriculture enthusiasts whom could potentially attend ATU. We have a strong recruiting process in the Ag Department and FFA Day is a great tool to seek out future students.
The Arkansas Tech Department of Agriculture hosts its annual FFA Day every Spring semester. Students throughout the department work the different divisions of the Northwest District CDE Contests for high school FFA members. As an extra bonus classes are canceled across the department to encourage more involvement in this exciting day.
I was assigned to the forestry division and before we headed out to Lake Dardanelle State Park I finally got a picture with ATU Jerry! You know its a large campus event when Jerry is there. He might not be our mascot, but he is #1 in our hearts.
