John 20:24-28 “…Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’ Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!'”
This scripture really spoke to me at New Life Church Greater Little Rock’s service on Good Friday. Unlike Thomas, we are not able to physically touch the wounds on Jesus’ hands and side in order to believe. We must be strong in our faith and never forget His scars are for us!
Growing up in Catholic Schools and a Catholic Church we were always taught to never raise our hands or clap in church because it was disrespectful. We were expected to be quiet and reserved. We were only to move if it was to sit, kneel, stand, or receive communion. Now that I attend New Life it is a completely different atmosphere. People everywhere are raising their hands, singing, dancing, clapping and rejoicing in the name of the Lord. I love it but it is difficult for me to get used to.
This photo symbolizes a lot for me because I am reaching out my hand for Jesus my Lord and Savior even though its a different form of worship than how I was raised. My relationship with God is ever growing and changing and I could not be more thankful for that.
